ABOUT BAR NONE

Our Mission.

Bar None Pathways supports students and attorneys historically underrepresented in the legal profession in exploring whether law is the right path. For those who choose it, we ensure they have the tools, support, and community to enter, persist, and succeed.

Meet the Founder.

Nicole Harris-Crest is an attorney and nonprofit leader who has built her career advancing equity across education, justice, and workforce pathways. She founded Bar None to address the access and support gaps she personally witnessed within the legal profession.

Nicole’s path into law was deeply personal. After losing her father to gun violence in Baltimore, she committed to pursuing justice and structural change, principles that continue to guide her work. She earned her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she developed a strong commitment to mentorship and access.

She began her legal career in private practice, where she experienced the isolation and lack of sponsorship that many attorneys face in spaces where people with their background are underrepresented. Even in environments with some diversity, meaningful advocacy, guidance, and belonging were often missing.

Nicole later led nonprofit and public sector work across education, justice reform, and workforce development, including leadership roles within the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office. Over the past decade, she has built programs, secured philanthropic support, and expanded opportunities for students and early-career professionals.

Bar None is a culmination of her legal training, leadership, and commitment to building pathways into and through the legal profession.
